The Story Of A Russian Freighter Aircraft

Russian freighter aircraft has a pretty strange story. When it was built the name "Riga" - the capital of Latvia, but after construction is completed and 20 minutes after the launch ceremony began, they informed Moscow that his name was changed to "VARYAG", probably because at that time asked for the independence of Latvia, the Russian government understands that if they use old name, in recent months one of their greatest ships carrying the name of the capital of another country. Thus Moscow called and changed his name at the same time when the launch. One bad sign.

A few years later, they can not manage it again, and the vessel itself require renewal so they decided to sell it as scrap metal! Companies that buy it can not send this ship into scrap metal disposal site, because Turkey does not allow private companies to send large transport ship and into the waters at this terrible time so that the ship is allowed during the first half year and they are seriously planning to leave. Then they get permission from Turkey and move it from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea. And in the Mediterranean the ship was almost caught in a sand dune. So it takes several years as it navigates his final journey.
